It’s easy to submit your health and medical expenses for reimbursement through SecureMed’s Health Plan! Submit, pay, and be reimbursed through our convenient, fast, and secure system. No more trips to the post office and no more confusing paper exchanges. Expect your claim to be processed promptly with reimbursement to your personal bank account.

 

How It Works:

  1. You pay for your health and medical expenses personally.
  2. You submit your claim securely to SecureMed using e-Courier.
  3. Your employer pays the invoice for the health and medical expenses plus the administration fee by Interac e-transfer to SecureMed.
  4. You personally receive reimbursement of the health and medical expenses from SecureMed by Interac e-transfer after the payment is received by SecureMed from your company.

 

 

Submit Your Claim:

  1. Gather your receipts.
  2. Download the SecureMed Claim Form.  
  3. Enter your personal information and claim information onto the SecureMed Claim Form:
    1. Make sure your personal email address is correct as your reimbursement by Interac e-transfer will be emailed to you.
    2. Review the SecureMed Online Claim Terms & Conditions at the bottom of this page.  
    3. Enter one line for each receipt you have. Use the drop-down menu to select the type of medical expense.
    4. You can enter claims for both you and your dependents on the same form.
  4. Click on PRINT to print the completed Claim Form:
    1. Attach the first page to your receipts and keep these in a safe location for 7 years.
    2. Give the Invoice (second page) to your employer for payment to SecureMed.
  5. Click on SUBMIT to submit your Claim Form through e-Courier’s secure upload site:
    1. First, you will be prompted to save the PDF on your computer.
    2. Then an e-Courier link will open a new web page. Fill out the required information as prompted.
    3. Attach the PDF of your claim. There is no limit to the number of claims you can submit at one time.
    4. Hit “Send e-Package”.

Note: There is no requirement to attach receipts to your claim form. However, all submitted claims are subject to randomly selected audits. Keep your receipts in a safe, secure location for 7 years.

 

What Health & Medical Expenses are Eligible?

The Income Tax Act (Canada) clearly identifies the eligible Medical Expenses that you may claim. Please refer to the Revenue Canada website and discuss with your professional accountant regarding the eligibility of a medical expense prior to submitting a claim to SecureMed.
